I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Please be mindful of sending your child to school if they are not feeling well. We have had cases of Strep and the Flu going around this week. Remember the county policy is fever free and vomit free for 24 hours before they can return to school. Thank you in advance for keeping us all healthy! GMS permission forms: Please return the permission slips regarding the Griffin Middle school visit. Rock Eagle: March 25 – 27, 2020. Your child brought home a packet of information regarding the Rock Eagle trip. This is an amazing opportunity and we are looking forward to sharing this educational opportunity together. You will receive more information closer to the trip. Payments should be paid in full by March 13, 2020. Xtramath.org: Please have your child practice a couple of times a week. This program will help with their multiplication and division fluency. Mobymax: All students have been assigned new lessons in Mobymax in Math, Science and ELA. Feel free to practice these at home! I hope you all had a wonderful break! I enjoyed celebrating with my family and friends. It was so nice to see all the kids today! A special Welcome Back to Kendra! *I sent home an Order of Operations at home extension activity with your child today. I told them that if they do not have time tonight to practice then they can practice in the morning for morning choice. Order of Operations is a systematic step-by-step procedure that requires practice. There are only 8 problems. Thank you in advance for your support! *We are in need of glue sticks!!! Curriculum: Math – Order of Operations Science – Science Fair Projects Social Studies – WWII Reading – Compare & Contrast sentences, using meaningful vocabulary Writing –Opinion writing English Language Arts – reviewing: simple sentences, parts of speech, simple subjects/simple predicates, comparative or superlative suffixes Science Fair: The Science Fair will be held January 11, 2020. Science Fair projects are to be dropped off the morning of January 11, 2020 between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Participation is required for all 5th grade students. Students may work in a group to submit a science fair project. The group can be no larger than three. Individual science fair projects are encouraged. Attached is the rubric that will be used for judging of individual projects as well as the criteria for the display.
