I hope you all had a wonderful break! I enjoyed celebrating with my family and friends. It was so nice to see all the kids today! A special Welcome Back to Kendra! *I sent home an Order of Operations at home extension activity with your child today. I told them that if they do not have time tonight to practice then they can practice in the morning for morning choice. Order of Operations is a systematic step-by-step procedure that requires practice. There are only 8 problems. Thank you in advance for your support! *We are in need of glue sticks!!! It is hard to believe we are finishing up Quarter 2 standards and wrapping up the first half of fifth grade! Both classes took the MI last week and will be taking the RI this week. Xtramath.org: Please have your child practice a couple of times a week. This program will help with their multiplication and division fluency. Mobymax: All students have been assigned new lessons in Mobymax. Feel free to practice these at home! Mentor Sentences: Every week we focus on a mentor sentence. Please remind your child to study their mentor sentence on Thursday night for the assessment on Friday. This is just a grade, not a test. As we progress in the series the sentences get more complicated, as well as the subject matter. Reviewing the sentence a couple times throughout the week is the only way to ensure the new information is acquired.
